Do you think UnderGod should be taken out of the pledge? I used to not care, but now I do. I think it should. Originally, it wasn't in the pledge to begin with anyway. But, the sentence doesn't mean anything for non-god believers. Insulting to some. So I think it should be taken out.

BUt what about the chirsitians who make up the majority of the country? WOuldn't having their beliefs ripped out of something so common place be insulting?
Our country was founded by christians so they could opperate their own type of christianity.
And, Freedom of religion means every religion, including Christianity.
Saying the pledge is actually optional, and it is illegal for someone ot punish you truly do not want to say the pledge, and it is even worse for them to make you say the under god part.
You don't have to say it in the first place, and taking it out would just make more of a problem.

I don't think it'd be insulting. Besides, wouldn't be better to have the original thing again? In schools in stuff they make you, no choice unless you want to be punished for it. Taking it out shouldn't be a problem. I mean oh well, not saying under god in somthing. If they did something stupid like..ban the selling of Christmas Trees then yeah that's stupid.

no, your missing my point, "Under God" was ALWAYS IN THERE! It wasn't just added for fun a few decades later, it was there from the beggining.
In schools, if they force you, you've got a problem because it's ILLEGAL for them to force you.
And taking a reference to the religion this country was founded on is pretty damn insulting if you ask me.

I agree with Mercy. Of course I do. But anyway, yea. I mean it is unsulting because you don't even have to say the pledge. So if you don't like it, don't say it. And this country was founded upon Christians, who were founded upon God, therefore the country is Under God.

There have been so many people and companies who go "AH! WE're gonna get sued if our kids make any reference to religion" and so they have the kids not say it. Once upon a time Coke had a "patriotic" can that left out Under God. It's always been in there, but people aren't obligated to say it, so they leave it out if t offends them. SEE!
